Job Summary

WFIP operates across 4 locations in India and The Philippines with a combined strength of 25,000+ direct and vendor resources, providing enabling global talent capabilities for Wells Fargo Bank NA, in Technology, Operations, and Corporate Functions such as Risk, Finance, Data Management and HR.

Data Management and Insights (DMI), which offers Data Office capabilities to Wells Fargo, focuses on leveraging data as a strategic asset. Data is critical to Wells Fargo’s continued success, deepening relationships with our customers, creating a seamless and convenient multi-channel experience, and meeting our commitment to satisfy our customers’ financial needs. DMI defines how we use information across the company, align our business practices and support our continued focus on great customer experience.

Reporting locally to the Head of Enterprise Functions at WFIP and globally through the Head of DMI for Wells Fargo, this position is responsible for overall management of the portfolio of Data Management services performed by WFIP and third party vendors across India and the Philippines. This role will be based in India, either Bangalore or Hyderabad.

This role requires a strong experience in data technology and governance with flavors of regulatory requirements, ideally in a US banking environment, client / partner relations, global service delivery, process improvement and technology solutions (like RPA) and people leadership across large delivery teams.

Key aspects of managing the operation include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Build and lead strong and capable delivery teams across different DMI and EDET verticals. Individual groups will vary in size and could typically be from 20 to 100. Total team size is expected to grow to ~500+.
  • Provide holistic view of international footprint for DMI services to drive consistency and optimization in processes and people practices.
  • Be responsible for delivery to agreed customer metrics – customer experience, cost, productivity, SLA.
  • Partner with different DMI groups across Regulatory reporting, Master and reference data management, Data quality, Data lakes etc. to identify and scope new opportunities to leverage global delivery capability and help design appropriate solutions.
  • Manage budgets and expenses to agreed goals. Drive savings through productivity improvements.
  • Engage and manage stakeholder relationships and provide solutions when needed.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identifying risks and building robust internal controls.
  • Proactively explore technology enablement of services – stay abreast of latest industry developments in areas such as RPA, AI, and BI tools and drive adoption.
  • Continuously strive towards improving effectiveness, efficiency and experience for stakeholders and customers (team members).

Market Skills and Certifications

  • Required to have 20+ years’ experience in technology delivery and data governance, with 7 – 8 years in senior roles leading large teams. Experience with in-house centres of large banks, specifically supporting the US would be a distinct advantage.
  • Qualifications – Post Graduate preferred. Minimum Bachelors degree in Engineering (Specialized in IT or data science).
  • Experiences should include leading teams to implement data solutions for Data Quality, Metadata, Master Data, Reference Data, Data Security, Data Privacy and/or Regulatory data
  • Must have good understanding of global trends and practices in Data Management including exposure to Big Data Platforms and data governance tools (Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Hortonworks, Teradata, Oracle, Informatica, AB Initio, Collibra, OFSAA).
  • Must be able to demonstrate true results in impacting business outcomes and must be an innovative leader.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of reliability, integrity, and trustworthiness in all areas
  • Takes ownership for responsibilities and for management of risk exposure.
  • A seasoned, relationship-driven executive who will have the style and sensitivity to work within a highly complex business environment. Multi-cultural sensitivity a must.
  • Exhibits excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Project Management, Stakeholder Engagement, People Leadership, leveraging Technology and Quality. Exhibits commitment to delivery of quality work products.
  • Good understanding of Six Sigma, Lean, etc. and a track record of continuous improvement through usage of the above quality tools. Experienced in process improvement and quality frameworks.
