Our Client which is a CMMI Level3 company in the field of IT located at Ahmedabad requires:

Designation: Sr. Desktop Support Executive / Modern Desktop Administrator

Location: Ahmedabad

Experience: 4-6 years

Job Timings: 9:30 am to 6:30 pm

Working days: 5 days

Salary: INR 300000 – 400000 per annum


The Sr. Desktop Support Engineer will be part of the service desk team and will provide 1st and 2nd line technical support to client and their end-user. Service Desk team is an initial point of contact for troubleshooting all IT related problems remotely/in-person and responsible for desktop builds/setups. Support requests are generated via a support ticket, phone call, Voicemail or an e-mail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are important with prior experience in a technical role. This position will be based in our Ahmedabad office and reports into the Head of US IT Support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning, deploying and managing Windows environment
  • Patch Management and Audits
  • Manage and maintain advance Sharing and NTFS permissions
  • Configure and restore backup jobs
  • Good troubleshooting skills on networking related to the desktops
  • Manage devices and data
  • Configure and troubleshooting connectivity issues
  • Plan and implement Windows 10 by using Windows Autopilot / dynamic deployment
  • Upgrade devices to Windows 10 and manage updates
  • Manage policies and profiles
  • Manage and protect devices (Defender, In-Tune)
  • Deploy and update applications, Implement Mobile Application Management (MAM)
  • Manage Intune device enrolment and inventory and monitor
  • Configuration of Print devices (network and local) on desktops
  • Co-ordinate with vendors for support
  • Ensure inventory of IT hardware and software assets are up to date
  • Stay updated with system information, changes and updates.

Skills and Experience: * Must be proficient and experienced in deploying, configuring, and maintaining Windows 7,8 & 10 and non-Windows devices and technologies

  • Should understand Active Directory
  • Should have performed user management and rights management
  • Should have experience on working with patch management solutions (WSUS / SCCM / In-Tune)
  • Sound experience on Anti-Virus configuration and monitoring
  • Excellent knowledge of Office 365 applications
  • Working on productivity suites and Desktop application
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory knowledge and usage
  • Handling Outlook and Mailbox related issues
  • Basic knowledge on Switch, Router and Firewall functionalities
  • Should have knowledge of network and local printer

Generic Roles & Responsibilities: * Answer technical queries (both initial and follow up) via phone, the ticketing system, email, IM Chat

  • Log all issues / customer requests and resolutions
  • Communicate with users, explain issues and resolutions, update activity or train on new equipment or software
  • Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies
  • Provides on-call high priority 24/7 technical support as necessary
  • Troubleshoot issues by utilizing resources like KB / Standard Operating Procedure, peer support, supervisor guidance and management consultancy
  • Ensure CMDB and all IT digital assets are real-time updated
  • Provided out-side hours support for critical, urgent and mission critical activities
  • Contribute in building technical knowledgebase
  • Provide methodological assistance to client / peers
  • Follow timely delegation / escalation procedure
  • Follow ITIL standard practices for incident, change and problem management
  • Outstanding analytical and technical problem-solving skills
  • Keep yourself updated with technology updates
  • Adhere to compliance and governance standards and report any non-compliances to the manager
  • Participate & contribute in IT team meetings
  • Foster professional relationship with all colleagues by listening, understanding and responding to their needs
  • Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent organizational, time-management and prioritization skills
  • Promote positive customer service attitude among peers

Qualifications & Certifications: * Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate

  • Preferred CompTIA A+
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline
  • Minimum of two (2) year of experience in an international customer-facing role or having excellent verbal and written communication skills
